I almost always carry a sketch book, and since the 1990s I've made drawings at concerts, parties and other events. Most of the drawings are done very quickly with a pencil, and the art works are often difficult to photograph. I sometimes scan the drawings and turn them into vector images, which takes a lot longer than doing the actual drawings!

I did this drawing of Kristin Hersh at a concert at the Norwich Art Centre in 2009. She was playing solo and the concert was seated, which is perfect for live drawing.

This drawing is from a concert at Templewood in North Norfolk in 2014. The violinist is Bogdan Vacarescu, who is both brilliant and very funny (in a good way!).

And here is another violinist. I made this drawing at a concert with Poppyland songs at Sidestrand Church in 2015. The concert was organised by my cousin Bertie Anderson, who won the Music Award at the Norfolk Arts Awards in 2022 (I won the Visual Arts Awards with the Norwich Dandies at the same event).
